What is ConnectTherapy™?
ConnectTherapy™ is a unique patient centered model of treatment developed by Dr. LJ Lee. It encompasses a whole body assessment to decipher where the “driver” of the dysfunction is. For example if you have hip pain and have already seen a health professional and it hasn’t got better it may be that the hip is the victim of the pain and not the driver of the problem. A ConnectTherapy™ assessment will look at your hip but also at the rest of your body to find where in the body is driving the dysfunction at your hip, so in this case it may be we need to treat your thorax, foot or pelvis to change the movement strategies at your hip.
What is the Thoracic Ring Approach™?
The model for assessing and treating the thorax (ribs and thoracic spine) developed by L J Lee. It is a model which challenges the paradigm that the thoracic cage is inherently stiff and stable and instead needs neuromuscular retraining just like the rest of the body. Using the Thoracic Ring Approach has revolutionized the way to assess and treat the thoracic spine – looking at it’s attachments into the ribs as a whole ring rather than just the vertebrae separately. The Thoracic Ring Approach is a key tool used in a ConnectTherapy™ Assessment.

Laura completed her Physiotherapy training at Otago University in 2007. She went on to work in Wellington, before deciding to travel the world. Not quite ready to head back to NZ Laura worked for several years in Sydney where she completed her Clinical Pilates certification and found love for both treating running injuries and running herself.
Since arriving in the beautiful Mount Maunganui Laura has returned to Australia several times for professional development. She believes in treating holistically and integrates the full body in her sessions using her “ConnectTherapy” training by L J Lee. Laura loves seeing results with her patients by working hard to understand the driver of the problem and not just treating the pain.
