FAQs

Will ACC cover my treatment?
Body in Motion Physiotherapy is ACC registered. Clients will be required to pay a surcharge per visit. See Our Fees for more information .
What if ACC declines my claim?
We will advise you if we think that is possible. If ACC declines to cover your claim, you will need to pay us as a private patient to continue treatment. See Our Fees for prices.
Do I need to see a doctor first?
No, you don’t need to see a doctor before making an appointment with us.
How long will the treatment session be? How many times will I have to visit?
Your first appointment will include an initial assessment of your injury or condition. This first appointment will take between 30 and 40 minutes. We will then be able to advise you how many treatments you’ll need, but the average is four to six over a three to four week period.
Can I request a female physiotherapist?
Yes, we have both male and female physiotherapists working in each of our four clinics.
Do your physiotherapists specialise in particular sports?
We have expertise in most mainstream sports, especially rugby, netball, volleyball, soccer, multisport, cricket, league, golf and bowls.

You can see our staff specialties in the Our Team section or just ask our receptionist when you phone for an appointment.

What should I wear?
Ideally loose and comfortable clothing.

We may need you to remove items of clothing depending on the injury site, in which case we provide gowns for your privacy.

Do I need to bring anything to my appointment?
We provide gowns, shorts and blankets but you are welcome to bring your own gown or wrap for more comfort.

If you have medical reports, x-rays or scans relating to your injury or condition, then please bring them along to your first appointment.

Are your clinics wheelchair accessible?
Yes, all of our clinics are wheelchair accessible and off-street parking is available at all of our locations.
Are there any conditions that you cannot treat?
We do not treat neurological, respiratory or some women’s health problems. However, we do have a comprehensive list of service providers with specific expertise to whom we can refer you if appropriate.
What if I am unhappy with my service or treatment?
We are committed to providing you with the best service possible and always welcome feedback on any part of our service. If you have a compliment or a complaint please feel free to talk to us or complete our customer service feedback form .

If the problem is not resolved to your satisfaction you have the right to contact the Health and Disability Commissioner’s office on 0800 11 22 33.
