BEGINNERS
If you’re rehabilitating from an injury and ready to transition back into functional fitness this is the perfect place to start. It’s also great for anyone looking to broaden their training repertoire. You will learn all the basic principles of Pilates and experience both matwork and reformer exercises. This is the first step towards improved core awareness, increased muscular strength and restored flexibility.
MATWORK
Experience the varied benefits of Pilates matwork in this one-hour class. It is a fantastic way to mobilise the spine, increase core strength and improve joint stability – and you’ll also build that ultimate mind-body neuromuscular connection. This class makes use of small pieces of equipment to facilitate good movement patterns or add intensity.
* You must be able to lay supine (on your back) on a mat.
REFORMER
Set entirely on the most commonly-used Pilates machine, the reformer, this class focuses on developing integrity through all movements. The reformers’ pre-tensioned, weighted springs provide continual feedback to the body so you can focus on mastering supreme technique. The springs can be adjusted to help target either deep stabilising muscles close to joints, or the large global mobilisers that drive power. The reformer is a great way to build body awareness as there is constant proprioceptive feedback being passed between the body and the brain.
*It is recommended to wear socks in this class
INTERMEDIATE MATWORK & REFORMER
If you’re a keen and regular Pilates enthusiast then this class is for you. These classes run at a slightly increased tempo, offer a higher number of repetitions and progressions, as well as added choreography to challenge coordination and strength. It’s perfect if you know the fundamentals well and are ready to take your Pilates workout to a new level.
ACTIVE AGING
Catering to the active elderly population in our community, we have several senior Pilates classes each week. These classes help restore youth by placing focus on restoring mobility and then strength to all joints, while gaining stability through improving core strength. Great for those 65 years plus, clients can purchase discounted gold memberships.
YOGA FUSION
Yoga is a fantastic way to thank your body for its service! The class consists of breathing exercises and relaxation techniques to help relax your mind, and yoga poses and flowing sequences to move and stretch your body. Suitable for any age, stage and ability, you will be guided through a variety of seated, standing and inverted postures where the emphasis is on mindful movement, increasing flexibility and improving posture.
