Rehabilitating from an injury and ready to transition back into functional fitness? Need a little more specific and modified repertoire? Want to start at the very beginning and learn the absolute key Basic Principals of Pilates to get the most from this experience? This is the class that starts it all. Set in the format of experiencing both a Matwork & Reformer component, this is the first step forward into regaining your core awareness, muscular strength and having your flexibility restored.
Experience a full hour and benefits of a Matwork class. Come and experience the integrated use of small props and equipment to either facilitate good movement patterns throughout the body, or add intensity to a particular exercise. Matwork is fantastic to mobilise the spine, increase core strength and joint stability, while building that ultimate mind-‐to-‐body neuromuscular connection.
*Clients must be able to lay supine on a mat
A class set entirely on the most commonly used Pilates machine, the Reformer. The focus remains on developing integrity through all movements, with continual feedback to the body from pre tensioned, weighted springs. The springs can be adjusted to help target the deepest, most intrinsic local stabilising muscles closest to our joints, or the larger global mobilisers that give us our power off the start line. If body awareness is poor, the Reformer is also a great facilitator to build body-‐to-‐mind awareness, due to the proprioceptive feedback being given back to the brain.
*It is recommended to wear socks in this class
INTERMEDIATE MATWORK & REFORMER
Classes especially for those who are keen & regular Pilates enthusiasts. Instructor’s expect you to know the fundamentals well and are ready to take your workout to a new level. Classes run at a slightly increased tempo, offer a higher number of repetitions and progressions, as well as added choreography to challenge coordination and strength.
Catering to the active elderly population in our community, we have several Senior Pilates classes each week that restore youth, by placing focus on restoring mobility and then strength to all joints, while gaining stability through improving core strength. Great for those 65 years plus, clients can purchase discounted Gold Memberships.
Lastly, for those beautiful Mothers to be, we offer weekly Antenatal classes to support Mum’s body in preparation for birth. We make sure our clients are retaining their strength, muscle tone & stability to all joints as so many postural & physiological changes occur during pregnancy.
Runners, Swimmers, Cyclists – Triathletes! For those active members around our region, our early wake up Runners class, taught through a high intensity reformer workout, targets improving strength and restoring balance to joints while building muscular strength to your global mobilisers… (the powerful ones that get you off the start line!). Improve technique, lengthen your stride and allow Pilates to compliment your athletic conditioning.
