Sports Physio
We don’t want you to lose your place on the team – whether it’s an elite sporting squad, a school netball team or a social bowls four. We believe that focused people deserve focused treatment.
We have an amazing team of Sports Physiotherapists at Body in Motion and we believe they are second to none in the Bay of Plenty. Our specialist sports physio and rehabilitation service is based at the University of Waikato Adams Centre for High Performance Sport at Blake Park, so we have a world class facility to complement our world class physiotherapists.
Beyond treating your existing pain and discomfort, our sports physiotherapists will assess and diagnose the cause of pain, find the fastest way to alleviate it, and give you the tools to prevent a reoccurrence. Our aim is to enable you to achieve your physical goals and to be performing at your very best.
We have a unique collaborative approach to our rehabilitation service. Our Physiotherapists work together with Strength and Conditioning coaches, Specialist Sports Doctors and a variety of other sports-medicine professionals to provide you the best possible rehabilitation programme. We believe that sharing different ideas and experiences within and across professions ensures you receive the optimal treatment you need.
Your physical wellbeing is the foundation of an active life, and we will help you achieve it.

INJURY PREVENTION
Don’t wait for an injury. Body in Motion can do a sport-specific assessment of your muscle strength, flexibility, stability and movement habits to identify potential causes of injury, and to help you prevent them. Our specialist assessments include Muscle Balance Assessments (MBA), Musculo-skeletal Profiling and Biomechanical Video Analysis.
Many athletes use a combination of our specialist screening services to help them not only minimise the risk of injuries but to also allow them to train smarter and harder to improve their sporting performance.
